Being Prepared!

I am sure this is Scouts motto, having never been a scout or not for a long period of time, this is NOT one of my strenghts, far to laid back, sometimes I probably be mistaken for being in a fridge, problem is its gonna bite me in rear at some point!!

The difficult part is trying to say “see you” to friends and family, feel like I have been flying round trying to make sure I don’t miss anyone out, its nice the fact that people do wanna see you before you go, and I would like to see them, but time seems against me. Yeah Yeah I know I am not going forever….

But the other side of the coin is spending money on something useful in the form of equipment I need for my Safari, I went in to Decathlon (a huge sports/outdoor place in stockport) expecting to come out with a decent pair of walking shoes but came out with shed loads of other gear I didn’t think about getting from there, the list of stuff went something along the lines of:

  • Walking shoes
  • Torches
  • Hat (indiana jones eat your heart out)
  • Hiking pants and shorts
  • Blister preventing socks
  • Breatheable tops
  • Water Container
  • Fleece

I felt like I was in the power tools section of B&Q, it was great fun, don’t deny it all us blokes like the power tools aisle!! Well this was an even better playground! aisle after aisle of stuff!!
Has to be said the chap who helped me out was superb and in a bizarre coincidence he lived in South Africa for 12years and helped out on many a private game reserves, so was the perfect person to ask amazing how small this world is!!
